IN ALL OUR DAILY ACTIVITIES, WE COMMIT TO IMPLEMENTING A responsible governance model GUIDED BY THREE PRINCIPLES: Transparency, Environmental Responsibility, and Social Responsibility.

At Aurifil, growth, transparency, and sustainability are the fundamental pillars upon which we base our values. We firmly believe that ethics and profit should not be in conflict, but rather complementary, as we believe that economic development is inseparably linked to social and environmental development. Through the adoption of the Commitment 4sustainability® and inspiration from the Sustainable Development Goals, we are committed to transparency towards the market and to contributing to positive global change, taking clear environmental and social responsibility.

Transparency
“Transparency” is a tangible commitment to all stakeholders within the supply chain. We make relevant information available in a standardized manner, enabling common understanding, accessibility, clarity, and comparison. Transparency is essential to ensure traceability on products, processes, and suppliers within our supply chain.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Aurifil is committed to reducing the environmental impact of their activities through an approach focused on monitoring and continuously improving our performance. Aurifil strictly complies with current regulations and are constantly seeking materials and solutions that allow us to limit the emission of pollutants, ensuring compliance with limits on the presence of chemical substances.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
In the ethical and social field, Aurifil is committed to respecting workers’ rights and adopting practices that comply with major international conventions. Aurifil promotes freedom of association, combat child and forced labor, ensure health and safety at work, and commit to preventing any form of discrimination and abuse. Aurifil prefers to collaborate with partners who share our social values and verify the application of regulations even at partner companies.

CERTIFICATIONS AND PROJECTS

4sustainability® (certification n° 4S-100596) is an advanced implementation tool in the fashion and luxury sector. It is based on six pillars that follow the priorities of the Global Fashion Agenda, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. The framework, which is constantly updated, incorporates prestigious sector requirements, methodologies, and standards. It serves as a registered trademark to certify high sustainable performance.

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification guarantees that there are no harmful substances for health and the environment in the product. Aurifil’s conventional cotton is Oeko-Tex® certified n° 065292.O; Re-fil cotton is Oeko-Tex® certified n° 20CX00100; Aurifil’s wool is Oeko-Tex® certified n° 22CX00130

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) imposes requirements for ecological and labor conditions in the production of textiles and clothing from organic raw materials. In the production of 100% organic cotton Re-fil (Organic certified by ICEA – Licence by ICEA-TX-1325), Aurifil uses raw materials from farms that do not use toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, preserving soil fertility.

Better Cotton is a major global sustainability initiative for cotton. It is an international non-profit organization aimed at making global cotton production better for farmers, who receive training on how to use water efficiently, take care of soil health and natural habitats, reduce the use of the most harmful chemicals like fertilizers, and apply decent work principles. BCI farmers who implement this system are authorized to sell cotton branded as Better Cotton. In this way, more sustainable farming practices are implemented globally. Aurifil has been a member of Better Cotton since 2019.

We implement company policies aimed at progressively reducing the use of plastic and non-renewable resources. We participate in the program promoted by Plastic Bank® for recycling plastic waste from the oceans and are developing a plastic neutral company policy, with the goal of drastically reducing plastic consumption in the environment.
